Moses, of course, stands out as the greatest prophet and leader in Israel, But if it were not for Abraham, there would have been no nation to lead. In fact, if God had not chosen Abraham out of the degenerate and pagan community in which he lived, there may have been no savior of the world, for it was from Abraham’s seed that Jesus Christ came to bless all nations. The study of Abraham’s life then is indeed a study of God’s great redemptive plan.
